I anticipate H&M designer collaborations more than new Apple product launches. Which says a lot considering I’m Apple’d out– I own an iPhone, iPod, iPad and MacBook.
For this year’s designer collaboration, H&M teamed up with Parisian fashion house, KENZO to create a collection that will feature clothes and accessories for both men and women. I have been anticipating this latest designer collaboration since it was announced in May and the time has finally come!
Get your most comfortable shoes on, take a half day at work and get your wallet ready ‘cause the KENZO x H&M collection debuts in select stores and online this Thursday, November 3.
“Being able to speak to an even wider audience and reach people that may not know what KENZO is, is really exciting,” says Humberto Leon, co-creative director of KENZO.
Carol Lim and Humberto Leon joined the Parisian fashion house in 2011. Although somewhat new to KENZO, they aren’t new to the fashion game. They founded fashion retailer Opening Ceremony in 2002.
What I really love about this collaboration is that they brought in Chance The Rapper as one of the the campaign ambassadors. Working in PR/advertising, I pay close to attention to who brands align with and how. Tapping Chance was a great move for this collaboration considering the high momentum he’s built this year. He’s one of seven individuals selected for the campaign including Iman, Chloe Sevigny, Rosario Dawson, Suboi, Ryuichi Sakamoto, and Xiuhtezcatl Martinez.
When I think of KENZO, I instantly think prints and colors. Lots and lots of color, which I absolutely love about them! I’m so happy they didn’t skimp on any of that for this collection.
Here’s a few of my favorite looks from the collection:
